Revised Kawasaki spreads

So I actually got a really good review in class! Definitely the best yet, and I'm really hoping for a 3.5 (part of me is hoping for a 3.7, but I know that's asking a lot)....so yeah. No real negative comments. Everyone loved the colors. The only thing was the page with the white drawing and the text over her face, they didn't like the way I handled that..which is fine because I didn't either. It looked out of place, and I was hiding the beautiful sketch with the article. Also a couple girls suggested that I cutout the background of the last picture, to accentuate the geisha's hair...so...I fixed those two issues:

So I really like this page better. There's not much I can do to get rid of the white background of the picture. Also, with her shading I don't really think it's a good idea.

As for this...I can't decide if I like the cutout or not...

Which do you like better?

So I'm pretty pleased for the first time since class started (because finally people like what I like). Our next project is going to be tricky. We've got to create 8 frames, based on 10-15 seconds of a song...and the frames must convey movement and also the feeling we get from that music...all with type. I've got two songs that I thought of right away...both dealing with foreign travel (well the feelings they give me anyway)...so I think I have kind of an idea where to start. Thing is, we're supposed to come up with three completely different ideas for our song...so that could be tough. I'm going to try to do two different ideas for each song..and then pick what song I want. I have a slight idea for both...so I'll have to sketch that out and then rethink everything. We'll see how that goes. I've got a concert this weekend...so I'm going to be pressed for time (as always). The end of the semester is fast approaching and bringing a lot of work and stress with it. Ugh!
