Flora

So I decided to persue a recent interest in floral design. I talked to Adam and his mum is a florist and she agreed to teach me what to do! Today was my first day in the shop, and I had a great time. I'm hoping this is something that I'll continue.

These two pictures are the first arrangement I made. Valerie had an order, so I made one alongside her for practice. She said it was really good for my first time.

Then I learned to make corsages, and they're really fun. A pain on the hands though, because the bows are tricky to make and then there's a lot of wrapping up everything. Three in a row was a little tiring but that's because I hadn't really got the hang of it. But my second two came out much better than my first. Valerie was very encouraging. Two of the corsages are for Cass and Soph.

Then I made a 'fall' arrangement. This one involved a lot of work fleshing out the edges of the basket with greens so that there were no gaps and such. I really like it.

Both arrangements are in Valerie's display case for people to buy. Probably I'm being a wicked goober about it, but I'm proud!

I'm going to try to get back to Valerie's sometime next week.
