My original idea was to have a rose on the front and the eagle on the back (national symbols), but he nixed the eagle idea, so I went with the maple tree, which I learned was our national tree.
I'm really happy with it. Goldstein said it was terriffic and a strong design. Finally, some actual praise

I really love the front. I love how the rose came out and the colors.

I really like the design running down the side of the bill (made by '20'). I think the branch is weak though. Tim pointed out that it's overpowering, and many students said that in class as well (though I don't know why they didn't mention that the first time they saw it). I think when I get a chance to go back to it I'll try to turn down the opacity. I thought about adding a texture to it, but I couldn't think of an easy way and I'm far too lazy.
Other than that I'm really happy with it.
In other news, my first page of my magazine spread (Arranging Books) got picked for the Visions exhibition at school. Students can submit up to 5 pieces (I submitted three), and then they are judged by faculty and certain ones are picked to be in the exhibition. I was really surprised and happy that something of mine is going to be in the show. It's April 28th...beyond that I'm not really sure of details. I know my work is getting matted and put in a glass frame...but I'm not quite sure when that happens. I'm assuming when I go to pick up my work someone will tell me. ^_^
